Parents, carers and families have a crucial role in their children's learning and development and it has been recognised for a long time that successful schools need to build close partnerships with parents and families.
 
Manchester LA is committed to enabling closer work with parents and families. A number of initiatives, networks, training and resources are being commisioned and developed through schools, settings and other partners. The Greater Manchester Challenge (Parental Engagement Strand) has enabled Manchester to develop some of this work with the other GM Authorities.
